Kevin focuses his practice in areas of eminent domain, land use litigation, general civil litigation, environmental law and probate and estate administration. He has significant experience representing property owners and governmental authorities in eminent domain proceedings to acquire private property. He has represented municipalities concerning annexations of properties and land issues, as well as tried a number of jury and non-jury cases in both state and federal courts. He also has experience with litigation relating to issues under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Tennessee Hazardous Waste Act and Environmental Site Assessments. Mr. Walsh is also a member of the Owner’s Counsel of America, a national association of leading eminent domain attorneys across the United States. In 1980, Mr. Walsh started his law career with Hanover, Walsh, Jalenak & Blair PLLC and remained with the team when the firm joined with Harris, Shelton, Dunlap, Cobb & Ryder PLLC to form Harris Shelton Hanover Walsh PLLC in 2005. He is an active member of the Memphis community, giving his time in pro bono services for Ballet Memphis, where he assists with immigration visas for professional dancers, and the Fire Museum of Memphis, where he provides general legal advice. He frequently lectures on eminent domain issues at various seminars in the region.
