Barbara B. Lapides

Barbara Lapides has been practicing law in the Memphis area for more than 25 years. A former attorney for Hanover, Walsh, Jalenak & Blair PLLC, she joined Harris Shelton when the two firms combined in 2008. Her background is in real estate law, including matters such as the acquisition and disposition of businesses, resolution of business disputes, clients seeking payment in lieu of taxes and the sale, purchase, financing, leasing and foreclosure of interests in real property. She also has experience representing several municipalities in the greater Memphis area.

Over her career, Ms. Lapides has served the Memphis community through a variety of organizations and leadership roles. Currently, she is on the board for Concerts International and has previously served on boards for Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region, Theatre Memphis and Leadership Memphis. She belongs to the Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee and National Bar Associations, as well as the Association of Women Attorneys and Tennessee Lawyer Association for Women.
