David is a practicing attorney with over 35 years of experience representing a wide variety of clients, including world renowned entertainers and professional athletes. He is skilled in matters involving both federal and state tax controversy, tax planning, international/offshore tax, bankruptcy, and business planning. His vast expertise has allowed him to assist thousands of clients in the successful elimination of tens of millions of dollars in taxes.

Prior to joining the team at Harris Shelton, David founded the Law Offices of Monypeny and Associates, PC and he grew it to include offices in Memphis, Nashville, and Destin Florida. David succeeds at reaching successful settlements with taxing authorities over a wide range of tax matters through carefully reviewing, organizing, and presenting the evidence and legal arguments that support his clients’ positions.

As an extension of his practice, he offers his professional expertise through speaking and writing engagements centered around tax-related issues to fellow tax professionals.
