Lauren Meriwether, an attorney with focus areas including real estate, business and corporate legal affairs, commercial finance, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), joined Harris Shelton in 2022. She was first admitted to the Mississippi bar eight years ago and has practiced law with a particular focus on real estate concerns since then.

Lauren is respected for her collaborative and collegial approach, refined over a legal career spent working closely with people on transactional matters. She spent the first seven and a half years of law practice in residential real estate, representing a large number of homebuilders and developers in land acquisition, financing, sale-to-builder, construction financing and sale-to-homeowner. She also holds experience handling HOA and other business entity formation, as well as the drafting of contracts for newly formed businesses.

Besides being a member of the Tennessee and Mississippi Bar Associations, Lauren has been active within the Memphis Area Association of Realtors Governmental Affairs Committee since 2018 and is a past President of the Affiliate Council. In 2020, she earned Memphis Area Association of Realtors’ Affiliate of the Year award.
