Michelle Chiles

Michelle Chiles guides individuals, businesses, and communities through complex litigation. Her practice spans catastrophic injury claims, including serious automobile accidents; products liability matters involving people injured by defective products; cases affecting those harmed by fraud; business disputes; and county and municipal issues throughout the region.

Michelle is known for a straightforward approach to her work: be kind and be curious. That philosophy shapes how she listens to clients, understands their goals, and advocates on their behalf at every stage of a matter. Before joining Harris Shelton, she served as a law clerk to Justice Page on the Tennessee Supreme Court in Jackson for two years. She then practiced civil defense and professional liability in Chattanooga, where she represented attorneys, architects, engineers, and other design professionals – as well as short-term rental hosts sued over personal injuries at their properties.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her two dogs, Scottie and Emmy, while continually trying to persuade her cat to join in. She also volunteers with the Boys & Girls Club of Covington.
