Brad Gilmer is an experienced trial attorney with more than 25 years of practice
representing clients in complex civil litigation. He has secured numerous jury verdicts throughout his career and is known for his strategic, results-driven approach to litigation.

Brad’s practice focuses primarily on the defense of health care providers in professional negligence matters. He represents hospitals, long-term care facilities, substance abuse treatment centers, physicians, nurses, paramedics, dentists, and other licensed health care professionals. In addition, he defends non-medical professionals in malpractice actions, and represents medical device manufacturers in product liability cases.

Beyond his health care practice, Brad has extensive experience representing businesses, municipalities, and individuals in a wide range of matters, including negligence claims, premises liability, lease disputes, and other commercial litigation.

Before joining Harris Shelton, Brad practiced at several respected firms, including Domico Kyle PLLC (2001–2013,) Hardison Law Firm (2013–2017,) and Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC (2017–2019.)

Brad approaches each case with a focus on early, thorough case evaluation. By developing a comprehensive understanding of the facts at the outset, he is able to
guide clients through each phase of litigation with clarity and precision. He works closely with clients to determine when a matter can be resolved efficiently and when it is best positioned for trial.
